After reading a Newsweek online article I feel like singing praises to God for Obama’s Potomac VictorieS.  Read this excerpt from www.newsweek.com about last night’s results:

What was surprising, and surely worrisome to the Clinton campaign, was that Obama beat her among women, 58 to 42 percent, and pulled nearly even with her among whites, garnering 48 percent compared to her 51. He also defeated her in two other categories that she has usually dominated: lower-income groups and people without a college degree. All of which shows that Obama succeeded in broadening his coalition.

Amen and Hallelujah! If you pray, pray for Obama to finally defeat the evil twosome that is the Clinton marriage.  I will never declare Obama is God’s choice. But I will say I am a Christian and my choice is Obama.

I am not playing the race card Maryblu.  In case you didn’t notice Barack Obama is ‘black’ as we ‘Americans’ call it. But if you ask me, his skin is a tan brown. 

This country is racist. It has been since its inception. It has tried to either bleach colored people or murder them.  Native Americans, Blacks, Mexicans, etc.

Everyone that supports Barack does it for different reasons, but the bottom line is that we see something in him that gives us hope for a better America. And yes, we see his skin color.

I don’t understand why some folks want to put the past behind. We must live in light of the past, not with hatred for those who have hurt us but with a keen awareness of what them or ‘it’ (racism) is capable of. 

Since the start of the USA, there has been an unspoken and spoken rule that people of color are not to be trusted.  The Indians were ’savages’, black people are thieves and violent. Mexicans are lazy and now, human beings are illegal.  And who has uttered this throughout the history of America? Whites.

It is time for unity Maryblu. Unity among historically misunderstood people. And since the race of power has been the one to victimize, subdue and misunderstand us, we must unite not for retaliation but for equal opportunity of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for people of all colors and not just the dominant majority.

Or Brown Power!  Barack says, ‘our time has come’. Well, I say the time for African-Americans and all Minority-Americans to, at last, have our own powerful role model in the most powerful place in our country.

 Preliminary results of a survey of voters leaving their polling places in Louisiana showed that nearly half of those casting ballots were black. As a group, African-Americans have overwhelmingly favored Obama in earlier primaries, helping him to wins in several Southern states.

The same article reported that in the Virgin Islands 90% of people voted for Barack. It is time for brown, red and black people all over this country to rise up and speak up through their ballot.

Forty years ago hundreds of thousands of voices and feet protested the legalized segregation, hatred and violence againsts blacks and browns. And now, over 40 years later our time has come at last. 

I did not march in the Civil Rights Movement. I was not alive then, but I wonder if I had been, whether I would have had the courage to be non-violent or desperate enough to follow the ‘by any means necessary’ campaign.  Regardless, I am grateful so many people had the courage to fight for what seems to be an inch of success in 40 years time.

Barack is our hope for equality and for the fulfillment of a long overdue debt our nation owes its longsuffering minorities.
