Barack is Black.

“It’s time the media and others stopped playing the race card in order for this country to start healing.” -maryblu

I am not playing the race card Maryblu.  In case you didn’t notice Barack Obama is ‘black’ as we ‘Americans’ call it. But if you ask me, his skin is a tan brown.

This country is racist. It has been since its inception. It has tried to either bleach colored people or murder them.  Native Americans, Blacks, Mexicans, etc.

Everyone that supports Barack does it for different reasons, but the bottom line is that we see something in him that gives us hope for a better America. And yes, we see his skin color.

“We have to stop thinking of blame and guilt and working together. “

I don’t understand why some folks want to put the past behind. We must live in light of the past, not with hatred for those who have hurt us but with a keen awareness of what them or ‘it’ (racism) is capable of.

Since the start of the USA, there has been an unspoken and spoken rule that people of color are not to be trusted.  The Indians were ’savages’, black people are thieves and violent. Mexicans are lazy and now, human beings are illegal.  And who has uttered this throughout the history of America? Whites.

It is time for unity Maryblu. Unity among historically misunderstood people. And since the race of power has been the one to victimize, subdue and misunderstand us, we must unite not for retaliation but for equal opportunity of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for people of all colors and not just the dominant majority.

  1. It’s an interesting set of circumstances this year. I think it is interesting that the two top Democratic candidates look different but carry the same old message. I wrote a post on this subject titled, “Obama Magic”. I invite you to read it and leave me a commit. There are many interesting comments already. You can check it out at:

Come on over and see what you think.

  2. I just checked out your blogroll and linked over to Austin Bible Fellowship. I am a Christian and I like to write about out Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I have another post that has a lot to say about Good vs evil and the Beauty of our Lord. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this post as well. You can read “Beauty vs Evil at:

Thanks for your time and comments,
    God Bless

  3. I noticed that you don’t like Hillary much either. I will have lots of comments on her as we move along this election path. Don’t worry I am equal opportunity commenter.

I like your blog by the way.

    God Bless

  4. According to the demographics, I should be voting for Hillary Clinton: I’m a white, 60-year-old, highly educated woman from the Northeast. But I’m voting for Obama. I’ve waited all my life for a viable woman candidate for the presidency, but this is not the right woman. I want a woman of the highest ability and virtue, who would serve as a glorious role model to all young women. Hillary Clinton is not that woman.
She rode into power with her husband, and together they’ve acquired a long and seriously flawed history of self-serving and secretive financial and political dealings. The most cursory research will prove that true. She started out her political life supporting the racist Barry Goldwater. She is as comfortable with deception and trickery as George Bush. When I hear woman saying, “Oh, but that’s how you get things done in Washington,” I literally cringe.
I am passionately supporting Barack Obama. He can beat the Republicans; she cannot. Obama has attracted Independents and even Republicans to his camp, and in a general election they would vote for him, but not for Clinton. Clinton voted for the war, and has never apologized for it. Obama has spoken out against it from the beginning. Obama brings us hope–and not just that. Take a serious look at his ideas and experience.
Please, I beg of you, Sisters young and old: wait for the right woman. Then we can be proud.

  5. I am grateful that you are who you are and yet you support Barack.

There is cynicism out there towards Obama’s message (fellow blogger, Rigg for instance) but all of us in life who have come from unprivileged backgrounds and yet have aspired and attained some of our dreams despite the odds, truly hear his message and are reminded that if we have made it this far, how much more could we attain if we as a nation work together for the equal opportunity of all?

As a woman sho supports women’s rights, I dont understand feminists like the NOW of NYC who condemn other women who don’t support Hillary.

Because I am a woman who belives in equal opportunity for ALL I support Barack and not someone who has as you said, a “flawed history of self-serving and secretive financial and political dealings.”

  6. Hello again, susanita,

I am thankful that somehow you are still writing about me. Before we all get too excited I want to remind you that you have no idea about my struggles in life. Also, my statements merely ask that people investigate, reflect, pray, and make a strong thoughtful decision before they jump on anyones bandwagon. It just looks to me like Obama bandwagoners are the ones doing most of the jumping without thinking it through. We all want to feel good about ourselves and our candidates. But, this can lead to problems with policy. The Lord is our strength and our salvation, he gives us what we need not the government. God is an equal opportunity God.

    God Bless

  7. By the way to understand What I am talking about you might want to read my post titled, “Help” at:

    http://riggword.wordpress.com/2008/01/30/help/

You might want to avoid the first section and jump to the section titled, “The Lord”. which quotes the Bible verse Psalm 121: 1 & 2. Or you could just read the passage.

    God Bless

  8. now don’t get too excited but your homeboy’s going to be in a-town next week…check it out

  10. Hello Suzanita,

I quoted you in my blog today. I am looking for comments on why people like Obama.
Come over and leave a comment at

  11. I am curios to know if you happened to check out Obama’s vote on protecting our country from terrorists yesterday. The house has been completely irresponsible in not passing the FISA bill.

Where is his leadership in protecting the United States.
I urge you and all of your readers to call their House member and Nancy Pelosi
and tell them that they are not playing in a sandbox with shovels.

This is real important policy. Baseball and steroids can wait.

    Nancy Pelosi: (202) 225-0100

Thank you for this space and your time,
